“My whole life I have been complaining that my work was constantly interrupted, until I discovered that my interruptions were my work.” Nouwen
What is your work? How do you perceive it? How do you view the interruptions?
One of the reasons why we may despise the interruptions, maybe, is because we have no space in our lives, we fill every gap with something. Build space, build sabbath.
“Sabbath is being in a waiting, receptive mood in which we pause intentionally and regularly before the giver of all good gifts” Brueggemann
Sabbath is often seen as an exercise for the ‘religious’ – truth is, it is something we should all value. The need to stop, ponder, reflect, wait, rest, hold, stand, pause are all necessary to live life well. Sabbath is a principal that everyone could do well to observe.
Where is your sabbath?
