sticking with it

This paragraph about Rolly Richert in a post from Tic Long inspired me:

Actually part of the reason for the failure was Rolly gave real decision making power to younger leaders on his team and some of the decisions they made lead to the failure (decisions by the way that Rolly was against but he had empowered them so he was sticking with them)

What a testimony to great leadership – when you empower the team you stick with the team, whatever the cost!  This example is one that I desire to emulate, one that all leaders should emulate and one that could change the face of organisations world wide, if only it was followed.

Often you hear of examples that end more positively, this one had negative consequences but the character of an individual shone through – that is why people could testify to such a great character as they remember his life.
